The worlds first emotion sensitive smartphone (prototype only), driven by a mood ring. The spec was part of a sponsored project held by RIM Blackberry at the Art Centre College of Design.

“The phone is used in conjunction with a biometrics ring that is worn by the user to collect “emotional data”. Spec-wise it features a transparent OLED screen that becomes transparent when not in use and opaque during interaction. The front is all touch surface, while on the back there is a physical keyboard.” – notes the design website, Yanako Design

Co-owners Benjamin May, siblings Kate and Andrew Stanway, and Angus Abrahams, opened its doors and threw a house party as a ‘thank-you’ to all their friends, locals, and regulars who have supported the venue throughout the year. we were disappointed when range rover announced the evoque, leaving top end traditional range rover owners disgruntled across the globe, none the less the interluxe team were excited for the unveil of the new 2013 land rover range rover.

swimsuit models rock the high fashion world

gone is the stigma of swimsuit models only wearing swimsuits, with curvacious models jessica gomes, kate upton and miranda kerr dominating high fashion editorial globally – a space usually filled with angular, rail thin models.

the shake up in the industry began when miranda kerr strutted down the runway for balenciaga in the labels spring 2010 show, a feat that has proved popular with brands and publishing houses.

swim pin up kate upton, who is also a staple like gomes in sports illustrated and gq (above) is almost unrecognisable (below) in her latest vogue shoot in a win for advocacy groups, it looks like gaunt is out and strong is the new skinny. healthy and happy – these new wave and transformable models are laughing all the way to the bank.

when karl largerfeld designs a collection of collars exclusive to net-a-porter, you can guarantee they will be selling out quicker then a justin bieber concert – and that they did. priced at just £104 for the karl cracked leather collar, and £58 for the printed cotton-poplin cameo collar (pictured above), the items were in the hands (or around the necks) of fashionistas globally, quickly.

but the fun does not stop there, with largerfeld creating a showstopper metallic leather black collar, which is set with over 1,000 black diamonds of 40 carats and 22.33 carats of emerald hydrothermal rodium mounted on the black-plated silver. the item will be on displayed at the ’masterpiece london’, as part of the carol woolton exhibition (editor of british vogue jewelry) from june 28 to july 4.

damien hirst opens up to nowness.com

damien hirst – the artist believed to be the worlds richest, spoke to nowness.com about how his love affair with his infamous spot paintings began.

the stimulating insights into the thought behind the works of his 24 year long collection: the complete spot paintings, 1986-2011 – make it easier for the viewer to understand the motivations behind the series. in the short, hirst informs the viewer that only one of the works was ever completed with a black spot. the earlier examples are the most sought after, with a 1998 spot painting fetching a record price of £1.8 million.

this short video, by film maker matt black, educates us on why this collection does differ immensely from his other well known works, abiet ‘for the love of god’ (2007) – a skull encrusted with diamonds and the ‘physical impossibility of death in the mind of someone living’ (1991) featuring a dead shark showcased in formaldehyde in a vitrin (both pictured above).
